St. John's Priory Park

Lechlade-on-Thames - Gloucestershire

The spectacular Cotswold Water Park is the setting for St. John’s Priory Park, as well as being situated near the banks of the River Thames.  The park is well established and has been maintained to excellent standards over the years.  Some residents have lived in the park for 25 years which is evidence of the park’s friendliness and its sense of community.

The famous Trout Inn is right across the street from St. John’s Priory Park and is popular with people who love to watch the boats on the river as they pass by.  Less than a mile and within walking distance away is the village of Lechlade.  Here you will find all the amenities that you normally would in a busy village in the Cotswolds including dentists, doctors, a library, a post office, and a supermarket.  The edge of the market square in town is graced by St. Lawrence church whose construction was completed in 1476 and which you can see from St. John’s Priory Park.

Bourton on the Water, Burford, Cheltenham, and Stow are all Cotswold towns that are only a short drive from the park.  You can enjoy numerous activities such as a bathing beach, fishing, river boating, and sailing at the Cotswold Water Park.

Just outside the park entrance you can catch the bus every day but Sunday to the towns of Cirencester, Faringdon, and Swindon, a city that is on the local route between Cheltenham and Oxford and the mainline route between Paddington and Swansea.  Additionally, Lechlade is only a short walk from St. John’s Priory Park.
